This group began as a beginners bridge group some seven years ago, and the U3A members who started with us then remain as the nucleus of the group. They, and the others who have joined us since, now have a basic understanding of the principles of bidding and play. Together, we strive to improve our understanding and performance.
Most meetings begin with a presentation and discussion of some aspect of bidding or play, which takes about 45 minutes. Our members then play hands, discussing outcomes and strategies. They compare their own results with those of others who have played the same hands previously.
Three times a year we have a duplicate competition, awarding prizes to those who have achieved the best results.
Twice a year we have lunch parties, preceded by casual social bridge. We have also organised bridge weekends away for the last three years, which have been very well supported.
We play at St Sebastian's Pavilion in Crowthorne on alternate Thursday mornings.
At the moment, our group is full, but we are happy to answer questions, or put names on a waiting list.

1st Friday of month we play Rubber Bridge
2nd Friday of month we play Chicago
2rd Friday we have a presentation/quiz to begin with then play Chicago or Rubber
Last Friday in the Month we play Duplicate - Please let convener know if you are coming, and whether you need a partner
This is a
new venture and appears to be well received by members, who are enjoying the
extra challenge of duplicate
Help with scoring will be given - Come along and have some fun - we are a friendly group and welcome new members
We play social bridge and the ultimate aim is to enjoy a good game of bridge with friends
