Convenor’s Day 15 February 2012

Wokingham U3A will be holding a Convenor’s Day at The Emmbrook School.

Lunch will be provided. This day is intended primarily for Convenor’s but other

members are welcome, particularly if you are thinking of becoming convenors of

existing or new groups.

The programme is as follows:

10.00-10.30        Arrive and register.

10.30-11.30        Welcome to all convenors. There will be advice about running various types of group.

11.30-12.30        Workshops – an opportunity to exchange views.

The following topics will be offered:

Languages, Arts & Crafts, History, Music, Games/Sports, Social, Books/Discussion, Science

12.30-13.30        Lunch

13.30-14.30        A choice of activities:

• Workshop on public speaking, giving suggestions on how to speak more forcibly and clearly and to increase confidence in providing presentations for small groups

• Drama workshop

• Computer workshop – how to get the best out of our website, or an opportunity for one-to-one guidance on the use of Microsoft Office and the use of Power Point for presentations.

• Workshop on group finances

• Organisation of trips – a discussion of the do’s and don’ts.

• Chairobics – an opportunity for some fun exercise to get the blood circulating after lunch!

14.30-15.30        Panel discussion with each of the morning groups giving a short presentation of their discussions, followed by an opportunity for all present to join in.

15.30-16.00        Tea and cake prior to close.

If you are not a convenor but would like to come please complete the form below and return it to Pauline Riocreux. (Convenors will receive individually addressed invitations). If there are too many applications then preference will be given to convenors
