Handbell Ringing
We meet every Monday morning in beautiful surroudings, from 10.00 to 12.00 noon to make music using Bellplates - a substitute for real bells that make a comparable sound but are much cheaper to buy and maintain.
With little or no previous musical knowledge it is possible to become an active music maker within the group and enjoy all kinds of music: extracts from the classics to Old Time Musical Hall favourites, and lots in between, such as marches and Gilbert & Sullivan. We are sometimes asked to 'play away' and usually put together a lively programme.
Concentration and co-ordination are improved and so are tempers and spirits as Monday morning becomes something to look forward to.
Practice sessions for new participants are arranged.
