Health and Wellbeing Group.

The Health and Wellbeing Group has continued to flourish, with a number of new members joining us in the last 12 months.

We have had an interesting and, I hope stimulating year with talks on a variety of topics, as well as contributions from members. We celebrated Christmas with "Laughter the Best Medicine" and a tea party.

For the rest of this season we have topics including a talk and demonstration on reflexology, a talk on neuro-linguistic programming and Dr Darbre from Reading University speaking on cosmetics and cancer. We will also learn about recycling from Wokingham District Council. Nancy Thompkins, who helps keep us fit with warm up exercises before most of our sessions, will lead us through a meeting on "cholesterol" in April. The May meeting will be a walk for those who choose to come, as the local elections mean we will not have a hall to meet in.

I am looking for a volunteer, or a small group of people, to take over running the group after July. I am currently preparing a list of possible topics and speakers to ease the transition. So if there is anyone who would like to "have a go" at steering this friendly and enthusiastic group, please make yourself known to me and I will help you all I can. The reason I wish to give up is because we want to take a long holiday next year and do some of the things we want to do in retirement while it is still possible.

As no volunteer has been forthcoming this group has been terminated, unless or until someone is prepared to take it on.
