ITALIAN IMPROVERS..................................
Italian Intermediate below
We are a small friendly group that meets every Tuesday fortnight. Originally 'Italian for Holidays' the majority of the group were beginners or near beginners but it's true to say we have now earned our title of 'Improvers'. We have all made considerable progress and are now familiar with most of the verb tenses. (We don't always remember them but as we include more and more conversation in our sessions we try to use them as much as possible.)
We now have Jane who has taught Italian guiding and teaching us. We use course books (with answers at the back), tapes and videos and the main thing is that we all have a lot of fun. Our aim is to be able to understand and be understood when we visit Italy. Most members of the group have children or friends in Italy or children married to an Italian.
We meet in each others' houses. There are ten of us at present including Jane so we would not want to grow much bigger.

ITALIAN INTERMEDIATE
Ciao tutti!
We are a small friendly group that meets on Monday mornings to read, and, as far as we are able, talk about those aspects of Italy and its culture that we most enjoy.
We are reading together some short stories using Penguin Parallel texts (saves looking up every other word in the dictionary!), and we also read articles printed off Italian websites.
Because one of us can pick up Italian television, we try to improve our listening and pronunciation skills by viewing videos of those programmes, (nature, etc.) where the narrator's pace is slow enough to get the gist of it.
We manage some simple conversation each time, (usually about what we have recently done or seen), and we occasionally revise our rusty grammar.
If you have 3 or more years of Italian classes behind you, and, like us enjoy most things Italian, why not give us a try?
