Canterbury Christchurch University
Half-Day Conference
Saturday 21 November 2009
9.15-12.30
For fifteen years, Dr. Eileen Tresidder, Vice President of Canterbury and District U3A, has arranged our annual musical half-day conference. We extend our sincere appreciation to her for her enthusiasm and commitment. The subject coordinator for music, Ursula Steiger, has taken over the responsibility for future such conferences.
This year we celebrate the 200th anniversary of Felix Mendelssohn's birth and there will be a talk introducing the composer by Grenville Hancox MBE. during the first session of the conference. This will be held in the Powell Building. As always this will be followed by a Recital during the second session. Please see the October Newsletter for any further details. If you require a map of the the Campus please request it on the booking slip. There is wheel chair access at the main entrance in Holmes Road and at the rear entrance to the Powell Building. Parking on site and at St. Gregory's Centre.
The cost will be £12 for members and £14 for guests and will include coffee on arrival. Please make sure you fill in all sections of the booking form and make your cheque payable to Canterbury and District U3A.
