Tom Farrell – “The Olympics Past, Present and Future”.
Tom Farrell is a retired Anglican clergyman with an impressive sporting career. He represented Britain in the 1956 (Melbourne) Games at the 400 metres hurdles followed by the 800 meters in the1960 (Rome) Games. Tom held the British 400 meters hurdles record and captained the British Team in the 1958 European Championships. He was also Chaplain to the team in the 1972 Munich Games.
His talk will be in three parts….
This seemed an appropriate topic in the year when the Olympic Games returns to England. It will be the third time we have hosted the Summer Games the first being in 1908 followed by 1948 and now this year of the 30th modern Olympics.
Join us for a fascinating insight after the short Annual General Meeting.
