Monthly Meetings Monthly Meetings are held in the afternoons of the third Tuesday in each month at 2.00pm (except for the months of June, July and August) in St Paul's Parish Rooms, Reading Road, Wokingham with an invited speaker covering a wide variety of subjects. The group leaders of the various activity groups are usually present and would be only too pleased to talk to you. If anyone wishes to start a new interest group and has sufficient support the committee are keen to extend even more the variety of interest groups. The April Meeting Human Cloning: The Science Behind The Headlines Nina Brooke It is probably the case that most of you know only a little about human cloning - what you have seen as headlines or read in a newspaper. At this monthly meeting you will have the opportunity to find out a great deal more from Nina Brooke who is a lecturer in the Public Engagement with Science in the Department of Continuing Education at Reading University. Nina is very well qualified to demystify the fascinating topic of cloning for us having lectured at both Oxford and Reading Universities on this and related topics and having genetics as one of her research interests.
