Natural History & Environment Group
The Natural History & Environment Group is relatively new for Wokingham U3A (set up in August 2009). The group hopes to encompass as many aspects of natural history and environmental issues as possible, with the aim of exploring a general understanding of the natural world, especially as it impacts us within the Wokingham area. Activities include visiting sites of special interest, such as nature reserves and museums, or leisurely walks in the countryside looking at, and where possible identifying, the things we see (access to a pub, or at least a cafe, is always an intended inclusion).
In the months when outdoor activities are less attractive we either listen to talks from specialist speakers (when we can get them) or get together for lively and informative discussions about topical wildlife issues or specific questions on topics raised by members. We plan to meet on the second Tuesday of each month, although December may be excluded and additional days may be added for particular events.
