Poetry Reading Group
There are a number of groups in the market place who are willing to give courses on "how to write poetry" but these groups bring together people who have an interest in existing poetry and find that a lot of the enjoyment comes from reading it out loud.
Poetry Reading 1
We meet once a month in a members home and our current format is that prior to reading our chosen poem we each give a little background on our chosen poet. We then have a short discussion about the poem when we then like to read it again.
We have had meetings where members have brought along "A Poem of Choice" but we are now exploring themes ie: The Seasons ~ A Poem of Love ~ A Living Poet ~ A War Poem (any war) and Poets of different Nationalities.
