U3A Scrabble Group

The U3A Scrabble Group has been running for several years and I have been Convenor for this Group since September 2009.  We meet in an upstairs room at the WADE Centre on the Reading Road on the first Tuesday of each month starting at 2.00pm and finishing at 4.00pm.  Members are of varying abilities from beginners to experienced players, all are welcome to play.  We currently have 16 members although there is usually an average of 10 people playing at each session.  The maximum group size is 16 due to the size of the room.  The Group possesses several Scrabble sets as well as a few dictionaries for members to use.  Members pay 1-50 each session when they come along and this covers the cost of refreshments and the hiring of the room.
