Singing for Fun

This group continues to go from strength to strength. We now number around 30, but we still need more tenors and basses, please. We meet the second and fourth Thursdays of each month (except July and August) at 2 pm at Emmbrook Village Hall with some parking behind the hall and on the roadside. The entry payment covers hall rental, sheet music and refreshments.

At the beginning of the year we were very sorry to bid farewell to Eileen and Ken Goode. They had been stalwart musical leaders of the group since inception. Eileen in particular helped us to sing 'prettily'. But fate was kind to us and now we have Lorna White, a retired music teacher from the Holt school who taught many of our children. Lorna works with Elaine Poole (who has guided us musically since the group's inception) to provide a wide selection of musical challenges - folk and golden oldies, songs from the shows, rounds and negro spirituals to name but a few.

Don't worry if you haven't sung for years - you'll soon catch on. And it's all good fun!
