Theatre Visits Plans are afoot to revamp the Theatre Group. A couple of significant changes will be
1. Using the Wokingham U3A web site to announce forthcoming trips, in addition to emailing a list of interested members.
2. Registering members interested in theatre trips in a new email address list.
3. Arranging a "buddy" system whereby those not on line are kept in touch through a "buddy" who passes on information
We will be setting up a small committee of three or four members to plan the visits we make and to organise the buying and distributing of tickets. They will meet two or three times a year to discuss what's on at our local theatres and choosing productions to visit. We have at the moment two volunteers for the committee and would like to recruit a couple more. If you would be willing to get involved please contact Maurice Mingay.
A meeting on the afternoon of January 13th 2010 will be open to all interested members and the new programme committee will begin to plan visits for the first half of the new year.
Two theatre visits are planned under the "old regime". Both are Wednesday matinees at Woking Theatre. First is "Our Man In Havana" a comedy version of the old spy tale, on 28th October Second is "The Rain Man" starring Neil Morrissey on 25th November.
