WRITING FOR FUN GROUP
The writing for fun group has been meeting on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
We have some very enthusiastic members, but we need a few more to make the group viable. Our next meeting will be in February 2012. If you would like to join please contact Lauraine Newcombe or Vera Doe who will pass your name on to the group and let you know the next meeting date, time and venue.
When we say writing for fun it does not mean you have to do 'funny' writing, just that we are not too serious, spelling mistakes and awkward grammar are accepted if the story is good and if participants are willing to learn from others, then the group can make suggestions for improvement.
Several of us were writing, 'I went there', 'then I did this', 'then I did that' etc. etc. etc... Not exactly the makings of a good story, but before long we began to combine say a fall down stairs on another occasion, with something that had happened at a different time and, hey presto, we suddenly had an adventure story.
If you would enjoy having a go and don't mind sharing your amiable wanderings with other members of the group then please join us in February.
