REGIONAL STUDY DAY

MANAGING YOUR HEALTH IN THE THIRD AGE

Wednesday July 2^nd 2008 at 10am for 10.30 in the Owen Harris Building, Bucks University, High Wycombe Campus, Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe.  HP12 2JZ

The day will be led by Professor Margot Gosney M.D, F.R.C.P, Director of the Institute of Health Sciences, who has a special interest in the area of ageing but is also a clinician and is  involved in research projects.

Helen Grimwade,  Community Development Officer for Age Concern Oxfordshire, Michael Gowers of the Stroke Association  and Doctor John Clements will be among the speakers.

Professor Gosney has spoken at Reading U3A and both she and Helen Grimwade have been described as ‘inspiring’. The programme includes discussions on normal ageing, common conditions in later life, nutrition, exercise, research projects, what is happening in the community etc., and there will be ample opportunity for questions throughout the day.  Come along and make it a great day for all!

The cost of the Study Day is £15 per person.

Tea/coffee will be available  from 10am and will be served again in the afternoon.  A light lunch of sandwiches, savoury snacks, crisps and orange juice is available at an additional £6 per person.

Parking is available on the site. 

In waiving any fee, Professor Gosney has requested that people bring a bar of soap, a toothbrush or any small item, which she might be able to offer to her patients in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where she carries out clinical duties.  Many of her patients have no relatives and come into hospital with nothing.
