WALKING
The Walking Group has a 'floating' membership of around 80, but the usual numbers for any given walk will be approx. 25. We meet on the first Thursday of the month, with a nominated walk starting at 10.00 am from a pub selected for three good reasons!
1 Close proximity to the ensuing walk
2 A good sized car park
3 Personal knowledge that the pub is convivial/big enough to accommodate thirsty/hungry U3A walkers.
Walks (selected mainly by our resident 'expert' Robert Foley and supplemented by others within the group) are designed to be not too strenuous - between 4 and 5 miles long, picturesque and/or educational (plenty of flora and fauna) and to enable members to socialise both during the walk and at the subsequent lunch which is optional.
Potential new walkers may like to know that there are no subscription fees for this group. Just turn up and enjoy!
