Environmental Studies

Group Description

The format of the Environment Studies Group is a regular monthly meeting, from time to time featuring visiting speakers; a chance to listen to the output of research or to hear from experts in certain fields of interest. We will also give opportunities for research into topics of concern to the group as a whole.

Over time, we will build a library of knowledge, be able to publish our analysis locally (and then take feedback, which may inspire further investigation to keep the library accurate and up to date). In so doing, we will encourage our U3A and other friends to change their environmental behaviour for the better.

A key aim is to provide practical information and advice, so that we can all take action to improve the environment.

If you are a like-minded person who fancies doing some ‘information digging’ as part of a small sub-group, talking to experts and pulling together some facts and figures on environmental topics that affect us locally, then please consider getting involved. Sub-groups will share their knowledge across the entire group or even Wokingham U3A as a whole, once they have something to report. The intent is to publish across Wokingham U3A and not keep the information to our group.

But if you just want to learn more, then join us at our meetings or come to one of our events.

Generally meetings are on the 2nd Monday of the month, put please refer to the Group Programmes page for more details.

Tea and coffee will be provided.

A charge of £2.00 will be made to each attendee.
