Group Description

This new group first met on 14th January 2015. At the time of writing we still have space for more members. We all have an interest in the subject and are studying it by using a GCSE text book and researching various topics each month. We are keeping the group informal and will meet monthly in members’ homes on rota. We hope that everyone who attends will feel able to contribute, to some extent, to the topic of that meeting. We will be studying the experiences and way of life of ordinary people in the past. Social history is an alternative to conventional, political history as it has a human bias. We also study economic history topics, because they overlap closely with social history.
