We’re a fairly laid-back group, attempting, and sometimes failing, to play a wide range of music, from early music specifically written for recorder consorts, to contemporary pieces, and modern folk and jazz arrangements, taking in a stab at the classics along the way.
We all play at least two instruments, and like to change around – you can get a completely different view of a piece if you’ve always played the tenor part and then try the treble.
Sessions are not usually planned, unless we’re working towards a specific event; we play what’s feasible with the number of players who turn up.
So if you have any size of recorder (we currently run from sopranino to bass, and would particularly welcome a great bass player), are a moderately good sightreader, and like a bit of a challenge, please get in touch.
