Walking

Group Description

The Walking Group has a membership of over 50 but the usual numbers for any given walk is in the region of between 30 and 40. We meet on the first Thursday of the month, with a nominated walk starting at 10.00 am from a pub selected for three good reasons!

  1. Close proximity to the ensuing walk
  2. A good sized car park
  3. Personal knowledge that the pub is convivial/big enough to accommodate thirsty/hungry U3A walkers.

Walks are arranged each month by members of the Group and are designed to be not too strenuous, to be between 4 and 5 miles long and aim to be picturesque and/or educational (plenty of flora and fauna) and to enable members to socialise both during the walk and at the subsequent lunch, which is optional.

This Group (the Thursday ‘Walking’ group) is currently full, but there is a new Group “Walking 2 – The Wayfarers”.
