We have been notified that the access door at Woosehill Community Centre has been broken again by a 3rd party holding open the door with a rubbish bin despite notices requesting that the door not be held open but allowed to return automatically to the closed position.
The cost of replacing the self closing mechanism is £1800.00.  Wokingham District council have now installed CCTV in order to record those who cause the mechanism to be damaged. The council will charge the person(s) or organisation the cost of replacement.
A number of Wokingham U3A groups use the Woosehill Community Centre so please ensure that if you use the centre you do not hold open the door.
Also please note that any such damage and subsequents costs would not be covered by Wokingham U3A’s insurance.
