Angela Buckley is the Author of the popular Police biography, The Real Sherlock Holmes. Angela gave us this talk in January 2017 and now she is coming back to tell us about the Baby Farm Murders which happened on our doorstep in Caversham.

On 30th March 1896, a bargeman hooked a parcel from the River Thames at Caversham.  Inside the brown paper package was the body of a baby girl – she had been strangled with tape.  When two more tiny bodies were found in a carpet bag, the police launched a nationwide hunt for a serial killer.

The first in a new historical true crime series, ‘Victorian Supersleuth Investigates’, Angela Buckley recounts the frantic race to stop Amelia Dyer – one of Britain’s most prolific murderers.

NB. Numbers at Rose Street Methodists Church, Wokingham are limited by fire regulations and unfortunately there can be no admittance once the hall is full.
