Tropical rainforests are the most biologically diverse and complex habitats on the planet. Only around 5% of Earth’s land surface is rainforest – but about half of all animal and plant species live there! According to National Geographic a quarter of ingredients in modern medicines come from rainforest plants.
In this talk, David Jones will outline the main ecological processes that keep the forests functioning, and he will describe the current threats that surround their long-term survival.
