The Life Story group started in October 2006 with a short course (An Introduction to starting a Life Story Project) which gave basic information to help members plan, structure and to generally get started.
The group meets each month - the members choosing to write about their life history (autobiography) or writing stories from their lives (memoirs) or a combination of both history and stories.
Everyone is encouraged to read their stories at the group meeting and receive constructive feedback and help from other members of the group. The monthly meeting provides both inspiration and motivation for members to progress their projects.
Recording stories from your life can be an interesting and enjoyable way to spend time and our efforts may well be of interest to our children and grandchildren - giving them an insight into the way we lived in earlier times - a social history of our era.
